The National Sport Council invite applications from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following positions:
Head Coach National Basketball Team
Qualifications and Experience
- At least FIBA coaching License Level III
- FIBA coaching Instructors certificate
- At least 5 years of coaching experience as a head or assistant coach of national league team
- Experience in national team coaching will be an advantage
- Must have completed Senior Secondary School Level of Education
- Diploma or Degree in a related field will be an advantage
Responsibilities of the Head Coach
- Develop and implement an annual program for the technical preparation of the National Basketball team
- Conduct and lead all training preparation of the national team
- Identify and recruit potential players for national team duties
- Develop and implement a talent identification program for future national team players at the level of schools and basketball academies.
- Conduct training and support capacity building of coaches in the country.
- Scout players for the national team especially during the course of the national championship
- Ensure the Improved ranking of the national team
- Any other duty that may be assigned to him/her in relation to basketball
- Report to the Technical Director
HEAD COACH NATIONAL MALE VOLLEYBALL TEAM
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have successfully completed at least FIVB Level I in Coaching
- FIVB Level II Coaching Certificate will a be an advantage
- At least 5 years work experience in coaching a national league team as head coach
- Experience in national team coaching will be an advantage
- Must have completed Senior Secondary School Level of Education
- Diploma or Degree in a related field will be an advantage
Responsibilities of the Head Coach

- Conduct and lead all training preparation of the national team

- Conduct training and support capacity building of coaches in the country.

- Any other duty that may be assigned to him/her in relation to volleyball

HEAD COACH FOR FOR NATIONAL ATHLETEICS TEAM
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant must have completed Secondary Education with G12 or GCE O’ Level
- Must obtain at least IAAF/World Athletics Coaches certificate level III
- At least 5 years work experience in coaching national athletes
- Diploma in coaching from a recognized University
- BSc in physical education and health
Responsibilities of the Head Coach
- Develop and implement an annual program for the technical preparation of the National team
- Conduct and lead all training preparation of the national team
- Identify and recruit potential athletes for national team duties
- Develop and implement a talent identification program for future national team athletes
- Conduct training and support capacity building of coaches in the country
- In consultation with the Technical Director organize time trials for athletes
- Assist Physical Education teachers in building their school athletics teams (upon request)
- Assist the Primary School Sport Association and Secondary School Sport Association in the conduct of their trials
- Any other duty that may be assigned to him/her in relation to athletics
- Report to the Technical director
COACH FOR FIELD EVENTS (ATHLETICS)
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant must have completed Secondary Education with G12 or GCE O’ Level
- Must obtain at least IAAF/World Athletics Coaches certificate level II
- At least 3 years work experience in coaching national athletes
- Certificate in coaching from a recognized University
- Certificate in physical education and health will be an advantage
Responsibilities of Coach for Field Events
- Collaborate with the Head coach in the implementation of the annual program for the technical preparation of the National team
- Under the supervision of the Head Coach, conduct the training program for field athletes
- Help in the identification and recruitment of potential athletes for national team duties
- Implement the talent identification program for future national team athletes
- In collaboration with the Head Coach, conduct training and support capacity building of coaches in the country
- In consultation with the Head Coach, organize trials for field events athletes
- Any other duty that may be assigned to him/her in relation to athletics
- Report to the Head Coach
