Gambian track queen, Gina Bass has surpassed her national record of 11.12sec in the 100m she set at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Beating competition from other top athletes from the African continent in the African Athletics senior championship underway in Mauritius, sprinter Bass ran to the finish line in the second semi final of the women’s 100m in 11.08sec, thus setting a new national record and personal best.
Gina now waits for the finals scheduled to take place tomorrow.
