The National Sports Council (NSC) today honoured its retired staff, Alhagie Abdoulie Bojang, former Wrestling Desk Officer, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of wrestling in The Gambia.
During a special ceremony at the NSC headquarters, Acting Executive Director Mahmoud L. Jawla commended Mr. Bojang for his unwavering commitment to the Council and the sport of wrestling.
“Mr. Bojang has rendered meritorious service to the National Sports Council and, in particular, to the sport of wrestling. His dedication, experience, and passion have played a significant role in strengthening the foundation of wrestling in The Gambia. We deeply appreciate his efforts and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Colleagues Celebrate Bojang’s Work Ethic and Character
Staff members at the NSC took turns expressing their appreciation for the time they worked alongside Mr. Bojang, highlighting his professionalism, humility, and mentorship.
“Mr. Bojang was more than just a colleague; he was a mentor to many of us,” said one staff member. “His knowledge of wrestling and his commitment to its development were truly inspiring. We will miss his wisdom and the camaraderie he brought to the team.”
Another colleague added, “He had an incredible work ethic and always approached his responsibilities with passion and dedication. His guidance and leadership will always be remembered.”
Bojang Expresses Gratitude
In his remarks, Alhagie Abdoulie Bojang expressed profound gratitude to the NSC administration for the recognition and appreciation shown to him.
“I am deeply humbled by this honour. Serving the National Sports Council and being part of the efforts to develop wrestling in The Gambia has been a privilege. I want to thank my colleagues and the leadership of the NSC for their support throughout my career. This recognition means a lot to me, and I will always cherish the memories and friendships I have built here.”
The NSC extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Bojang and remains committed to building upon the legacy he has helped establish for the continued progress of Gambian wrestling.
