Meeting With Gambian Community in Birmingham

Hon Bakary Badjie Minister of Youths and Sports, CDM Mr Bakary Jammeh, Marcel Mendy and other members of Gambian delegation to the Commonwealth Games in U.K. meet with elders of the Gambian community in Birmingham.
The event was spearheaded by Charge D’Affaires of The Gambia High Commission Mr Suntou Touray in a bid to connect the Hon Minister with Gambian community.
Community leaders and Imams appreciated the engagement and spend two hours of dialogue and discussions. Gambians like Mr Faks Touray and Mr Bamba Mass along with Imam Baba Jaiteh played a key role in realising the event. Mr Ansumana Barrow, Imam Tamsir, Imam Dawda Jallow, and others all played a part in making the event a success. Dinner was organised by the community leaders. Hon Badjie and delegation expressed appreciation for the goodwill gesture and indicated that, the Gambian athletes in Birmingham represent the whole Gambia regardless of geographical location.
CDM Bakary Jammeh detailed the efforts of the organising committee and the task assigned to it to give The Gambia a good representation at the games.
Mr Suntou Touray highlighted the patriotism of Gambians in the diaspora and the continued love they extend to The Gambia. Other speakers praised the new direction of sports and the injection of funds in sports development. Marcel Mendy, spoke about Sport development for youths.
