Ebrima Camara has just broken the national 100m record in his heat at the ongoing African Senior Athletics championship taking place in the Island of Mauritius.
Ebrima, who is among fourteen other Gambian athletes sponsored to take part in the African championship by the Ministry of Youth and Sport through the National Sport Council, finished his heat 7 with a time of 10.13sec.
It could be recalled that Ebrima, earlier held the national record together with Suwaibou Sanneh in the 100m with a time of 10.16sec.
Gambian sprint queen Gina Bass, won her 100m heat with a time of 11.36sec, while Fatou Sowe finished 5th with a time of 12.02sec with upcoming sprint star, Maimuna Jallow finishing second in her heat with a time of 11.88sec. Adama Jammeh finished third in his heat with a time of 10.43sec.
The youngest among the Gambian contingent, Nyimasata Jawneh alias Chucha finished 7th with a time of 12.32sec.
