The National Sports Council (NSC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), commenced a regional inspection of sporting facilities yesterday, starting with key sites in the Central River Region (CRR). The delegation, led by Adama Sabally, the newly appointed Facility Management Officer, inspected the Fula Bantang football field and the Janjanbureh football field, as part of their commitment to improving sports infrastructure across the country.
The primary objective of this tour is to visit project sites and assess the current status of sports facilities, while also working to enhance the decentralization of sports and improve facility management structures in the local communities. These goals are aligned with national efforts to foster equitable sports development in all regions of The Gambia.
On the first day of the tour, the team engaged with Babucarr Secka, CRR Sports Coordinator, Jambereh Trawally, Regional Sports Chairman, and local sports enthusiasts to review the conditions of these fields. The inspection aims to ensure that the venues are suitable for upcoming competitions and future development projects.
The NSC and MoYS team will continue their tour across the Upper River Region (URR), Lower River Region (LRR), and West Coast Region (WCR).
