The National Coordinating Committee (NCC) for Gambia’s Road to AFCON 2023 on Monday 8th January, 2024 received a major boost with the official signing of Twenty million, two hundred and fifty thousands dalasis (20,250,000) contract agreement with one of Gambia’s GSM leading operator Qcell, the official GSM partner of the country’s senior national football team.
The signing ceremony held at the QCell Headquarters at Kairaba Avenue witnessed a joyful moment and cheer amongst dignitaries who were in attendance of the ceremony.
The Chairman of QGroup foundation and CEO of Qcell Mr Muhammad Jah, applaud the NCC for a fair bidding .
He assured the committee of his foundations’ willingness for continuous collaboration to work with government through the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Gambia Football Federation for promotion of sports.
Mr Jah called on other private sectors to come forward and support the National Team .
The Minister of Youth and Sports Hon Bakary Y. Badjie who doubles as the NCC Chairman emphasised the importance of the support Qcell has made saying it’s a step in the right direction.
He thanked Muhammad Jah and his team for the donation to the Committee and thus a sign that all should come on board.
The President of the Gambia Football Federation thanked QGroup for the support, he emphasis that football is very expensive and more support is need to enable the team to reach their destination morally and financially
