Sara Camara Represents MOYS & NSC at Official Launch of BRICPOL Association – The Gambia

The Youth Monument in Westfield on Friday hosted the official launch of BRICPOL Association – The Gambia, marking a significant step in promoting structured discipline and youth engagement through sport.

Sara Camara, Communications and Public Relations Manager of the National Sports Council (NSC), represented the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) and the National Sports Council at the ceremony on behalf of the Acting Executive Director.

The event was attended by a Representative of the Inspector General of Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Baboucarr Barry, underscoring the strong collaboration between sports institutions and national security services in advancing discipline and public order.

Delivering the official launching statement, Mr. Camara conveyed warm greetings from the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports and the Acting Executive Director of the National Sports Council. He emphasized that the launch of BRICPOL represents more than a ceremonial event, describing it as a clear statement that discipline, structured training, and youth development must remain central to national progress.

He highlighted the role of sport as a powerful tool for transformation — one that builds confidence, instills respect, nurtures leadership, and promotes peace and social cohesion.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, through the National Sports Council, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting recognized and responsible associations that align with national development priorities. The leadership of BRICPOL was commended for its vision and initiative, with emphasis placed on good governance, transparency, inclusivity, and adherence to established standards to ensure sustainability and growth.

The ceremony featured skills and technique demonstrations by BRICPOL members before concluding with the formal declaration of the association as officially launched.
