The Gambian duo of Sainey Jawo and Mbye Baboucarr Jarra, the African Beach volley champions, have just defeated their counterparts from the Island of St Kitts and Nevis 2-0, in their first match at the Commonwealth Games under in Birmingham, England.
The match which was played at the Smith field, witnessed the display of talent, skill and tenacity. The Gambian stars who play their trade in Qatar, outclassed their opponents, winning 21-14 and
21-07 in the first and second sets respectively amid cheers by members of the Gambian delegation and members of the Gambian community in Birmingham.
The duo will now face Sri Lanka on 2nd August, 2022.
