Pa Trawally Replaced The Longest Serving Regional Sport Committee Chairman

Sport stakeholders of Central River Region, today gathered at the Janjangbureh youth centre hall.

The congress witnessed the election of a new Chairman for the Region, replacing Mr. Matarr Faal who has been the longest serving Regional Sport Chairperson.

All other excecutive members were elected for their first term.

Mr. Pa Trawally got 23 votes against Mr. Musa Fatty, former SG of the outgoing committee’s 16 votes.

Delivering his acceptance speech before delegates, Mr. Pa Trawally promised to continue from where Mr. Faal stopped. He vowed to work hard with his executive members in the interest of sport development in CRR. He called on all sport stakeholders to support their forthcoming programmes. Mr Trawally thanked Mr. Faal for his sacrifice and long service:

For his part, Mr. Matar Faal, outgoing chairperson, who served in this position for over two decades making him the longest serving Regional Sport Chairperson and NSC Council member, highlighted some of his achievements and challenges faced during his tenure. He was quick to thank stakeholders for entrusting him with that responsibility for that long and challenged them to support the new executive.

For his part, the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Mahmoud Lamin Jawla encouraged the newly elected executive to work hard and to live up to the task entrusted to them.
