The prestigious Men African Nations Volleyball Championship is currently underway in Cairo, Egypt. The championship, organized by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), began on 3rd September, 2023.
The Gambia team, whose participation is funded by the Ministry of Yourh and Sport, through the National Sport Council, is among 15 countries participating in the biggest volleyball championship of the continent.
Opening her account in the championship, the Gambian team locked horns with their counterparts from neighboring Senegal and defeated them 3-2. The Gambian team is set to play her second match of the tournament against Rwanda.
The tournament will conclude on September 14, 2023.
